Stones Don't Lie Press publishes the work of Yves Laurent. It exists so books can say what they have to say. No sponsors. No investors waiting on quarterly growth. No advertisers deciding what gets diagnosed and what gets covered up.
The name comes from the thesis of the first book: systems explain themselves in words, but what they leave in the ground can't be rewritten. The imprint tries to hold its own pages to that same standard.
Some titles appear under the author’s full legal name instead of the imprint. That is a requirement of Mexico’s author-publisher registration while the imprint’s classification is settled, not a change of ownership: the catalog is the same.
From the History of Control to the Ludist Manifesto · In Spanish
The flagship of the catalog, in Spanish. Twelve thousand years of systems that promised freedom and delivered control, and a proposal the book puts through its own hardest critique.
From the History of Control to the Ludist Manifesto · In English
An adaptation, not a translation: the same argument with its live cases brought up to date, and an edition whose corrections flowed back into the second Spanish edition.
On universal basic income and the work that comes next · In English
A diagnosis, not a defense: what basic income promises, what it leaves out, and why a check without ownership keeps people waiting at the door.
Spanish edition of The Generosity in the Doorway · In Spanish
The same argument written for Spanish-language readers: an adaptation, because the two editorial traditions don't argue the same way.
Free series · Cuadernos de Las Piedras · Spanish and English
Each paper goes down to one of the book's stones and studies it up close, starting with Göbekli Tepe. In English and Spanish, as a free PDF.
The author keeps ownership of the work. Rights are licensed by edition and for a fixed term, never in perpetuity.
The imprint’s books ship without locks. Whoever buys a book can read it on the device they choose, today and ten years from now.
ISBNs through Mexico’s ISBN Agency; copyrights registered with INDAUTOR and the U.S. Copyright Office, title by title.
Submissions are not open yet: for now the imprint publishes only its author’s work. When that changes, it will be said on this page.
